True Charm is written in counterpoint. Families, lovers, researchers, clergy and public servants move through interwoven storylines; one life comes forward while another continues just outside view. Each chapter follows the same chronology, so comedy can sit beside sacred wonder and private intimacy beside political crisis. Connections grow clearer as the strands converge. The eight books form one continuous narrative, not eight self-contained adventures: Awakening begins the journey rather than resolving every question.
Six strands give the saga its breadth: sacred myth and hereditary power; political and geopolitical consequence; suspense, secrecy and exposure; romance, family and chosen loyalties; humour, music, glamour and belonging; and the lived Romania of history, language, faith, cities and villages. Different strands lead at different moments. This is neither a single-hero quest nor a uniformly paced spy thriller: the intimacy matters as much as the institutions, and the joy as much as the danger.
New to the saga? Awakening is Book One and the only starting point you need. The eight volumes are intended to be read in order, with important relationships and questions continuing between them.

The central story unfolds from 26 April to 4 July, with most of its eight-book journey compressed into June. Autumn framing scenes and historical passages extend beyond these dates.
